Jude Obermüller (*1991) is a British composer. From the West End to Off Broadway; International Arts Festivals to Opera Festivals; and world-renowned performance spaces to Abbey Road Studios, Jude's eclectic works span music within theatre, dance and recorded media.

Since his first musical Forbidden Fruit was selected for the Brighton Festival at age 18, his career highlights have included the musicals UCAS (Edinburgh Fringe), Suffragette City and YouTubers (Youth Music Theatre: UK); Alice in Wonderland, a musical-play (Storyhouse, Chester, UK); Nehemiah, a dance (JCC Manhattan); Heartland, a cantata with author Nicky Singer (Scarabeus Theatre Company); I Remember the Ship, opera (Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival); scores for the plays Underground (59E59 Theatres, Off Broadway), Farragut North and As You Like It (Southwark Playhouse, Off West End), The Jabberwocky (Edinburgh Fringe) and That Face (Brighton Festival); as well as music for the UN Refugee Agency’s Moving Stories (Theatre Royal, Haymarket, West End). He currently has three new, each different pieces between workshop and development, both in the US & the U.K.

His work has been recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and played at The London Festival of Cabaret; The Other Palace, London; 54 Below, NYC; New York Musicals Festival (NYMF); Joe’s Pub at The Public Theatre, NYC; The Denver Opera House; New Musicals Inc. Los Angeles; The London Hippodrome; The Garrick Theatre, West End; New York City Center; The Kennedy Center, Washington D.C - as well as film festivals including: Seoul International Animation Festival; This is England Animation Festival, Rouen; Tricky Women Animation Festival, Vienna.

Winner of the coveted Remixed Award at New York City Center in 2016, Jude has received scholarships and awards from The Cameron Mackintosh Foundation; STOMP; Mark Rubinstein; Adam Kenwright; The Mel Silverman Award; The Horace Goldsmith Foundation; The Polonsky Foundation; The Ian Lombe Foundation; The Wayne Sleep Foundation for Music; New York University TSOA and The Royal College of Music.

Jude has been fortunate to collaborate with celebrated actors including Matt Lucas, Shaun Williamson, Josh O'Connor, Max Irons, and Luke Newton; musical cross-over front-runners Laura Wright and Andrea Ross; theatre legends - Frances Ruffelle (also current musical director), Cynthia Erivo, Paul Baker, Sally-Ann Tripplett, Rachel Tucker, and Maria Friedman. In 2012, Jude worked closely with Les Misérables creator Alain Boublil on the Off West End revival of Marguerite, as orchestrator and musical adaptor. In 2013, he arranged and orchestrated Only Men Aloud at Christmas, their UK Tour beginning at the Millennium Centre, Cardiff. In 2015, he provided orchestrations for Robbie Williams'International Tour of Swings Both Ways. Between 2011-12, Jude was a musical consultant to the band Bastille.
